Once the conversion rules have been defined and included into a configuration, the same principles apply to all other Communicator versions and thus an automation device can be connected to many industrial networks with just one effort.

Get up and running quickly with the free downloadeable "ABC Config Tool" No programming skills are needed to set up the Communicator as configuration is accomplished using the free, easy to use Windows™ based "ABC Config Tool". The ABC Config Tool can be used to configure almost any serial protocol including master/slave protocols such as Modbus, or other producer/consumer based protocols, standard or vendor specific. Configuring a Modbus application is as simple as running the embedded Modbus Wizard in the ABC Config Tool. The Communicator can also be easily configured to consume or produce individual dynamic serial data strings.

The scope of delivery includes a CD with the ABC config tool and the documentation, an installation leaflet, the configuration cable and a D-Sub9 subnet connector with internal screw terminals for easy installation..

Get customized versions tailor-made for specific requirements HMS provides the option to implement complex customer specific protocols or additional functionality such as profiles or data manipulation into the Communicator via its Java programming interface. Please contact HMS for a detailed evaluation of your needs. HMS provides a lot of services around the Anybus Communicator. I.e. it is also possible to customize the colour of the Communicator and add your logo as a brand labelled version.
